More than 1000 apply for Riga resident’s status in just few hours; hackers’ attempts to hinder registration prevented
"Rīgas satiksme" points out that the increased interest of customers has caused a high load on the webpage systems, for example, the first attempt of filling in the electronic application form may fail. There were also attempts from hackers to affect the functioning of the webpage, which did not hinder the general operation of the website. All personal data provided by the customers are in full safety and there are no reasons for customers’ concerns, "Rīgas satiksme" says.
At the same time, the company’s representatives remind that applying has just started and there are no reasons for big haste – one can apply during the coming two months.
As reported earlier, starting from today, October 16, every user of "Rīgas satiksme" website at www.rigassatiksme.lv can sign up for visiting a customer service centre, as well as to fill in an electronic application form for receiving a "Riga resident’s card" un "Riga resident’s status".
To apply for a visit, one shall open the website’s section "Riga resident’s card", enter his/her name and surname, as well as choose the time of the visit and the customer service centre to be visited. The above information will be only received by the customer service centre concerned and will not be available to other users of the website. One can also fill in the same section an application form, which will be automatically sent for data processing. The client will only have to visit the customer service centre, confirm the conformity of the data with his/her signature, and to receive a ready "Riga resident’s card", which will speed up the customer service process.
